Architectural Box Design

Large architectural boxes, often called wall boxes or wall trimĀ  is purely an elegant, decorative wall element. The most common is a select size of four pieces of molding assembled to create the look of a picture frame. The molding can be painted a different color from the wall to create a more dramatic effect. If painted the same color as the wall, shadow effects are pronounced.

Architectural boxes / wall trim is mostly installed in large entry foyers that have open walls. These can also be used in formal rooms, such as dining or living rooms.

Proper design and spacing is extremely important to achieve the best look for the wall space. Although the wall length will dictate the size and number of boxes to be used, when using multiple boxes an odd number is often more desirable than an even number of boxes.
